Tendayi Darikwa impresses in debut for Burnley

Zimbabwean defender Tendai Darikwa impressed on his Burnley debut at Elland road on Saturday. Darikwa who made a 500 000 pound switch from Chesterfield to Burnley during the transfer window showed his new manager Sean Dyche a few of his capabilities in Saturday’s meeting with Leeds.

Apart from exhibiting some solid defending Darikwa also showed attacking prowess after creating the all important goal that ensured Burnley salvaged a point against Leeds.

Leeds substitute Mirco Antenucci looked to have given Uwe Rosler a winning start as Leeds head coach, curling in left-footed effort from 25 yards.

Darikwa making his debut for Burnley however ensured the visitors grabbed a late equaliser after supplying a cross which was superbly nodded in by Wales striker Sam Vokes.

Burnley and Leeds were among eight sides that picked up a point on the opening weekend of action in the English championship.
