Chevrons target series win against Afghanistan

The Zimbabwe cricket team is now targeting a series victory after a 6 wicket victory ensured the Chevrons took a 2-1 lead on Tuesday.

A victory on Thursday would see Zimbabwe take an unassailable 3-1 win thus Dav Whatmore will be hoping his charges do the job and brush aside the tourists challenge.

Key  to Zimbabwe’s victory on Tuesday was Richmond Mutumbami who top scored with 74 in an encounter Elton Chigumbura ended unbeaten on 49. In the bowling department Tendai Chisoro ended with figures of 2 for 40 and the hosts will be hoping for a similiar performance.

Although the hosts wioll be looking to wrap up a series win, Thursday will be a do or die encounter for Afghanistan who need to win at all costs if they are to still have a chance of winning the series.
