Dereck Chisora wants London April heavyweight date with Anthony Joshua
Dereck Chisora’s camp have confirmed they are in talks for their boxer to face Anthony Joshua at the O2 Arena in London on 9 April – and say their man wants the fight because he is convinced he can cause a major surprise.
Chisora fought on the undercard of Joshua’s seventh-round stoppage of Dillian Whyte on Saturday, knocking out Jakov Gospic in three rounds, and his camp are confident that a deal can be struck in the next few weeks to meet the British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion.
Chisora’s promoter, Nisse Sauerland, said: “We have a great relationship with Eddie Hearn and his team at Matchroom Boxing and we’re positive this is a fight that could be made. We’re already in dialogue with Eddie about making a number of big fights and this is definitely one on the top of the list.
