Baba Shupi received much radio airtime for songs like ”Godo” and ”Muridzo” . Since he joined as a comedian in 1992 he rose to stardom through his radio skits like Nhau naBaba Shupi that made him people’s  favorite and therefore attracting corporate endorsements among other lucrative deals till he met Jesus Christ through Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He said that as Seventh-day Adventist members, they are distinguished by their observance of Saturday, the seventh day of the week in Christian calendars.

”It was hard for me to observe the day if I continued with showbiz considering that Saturdays are the busiest days in the arts sector,” he said.

The former artist said ”So I weighed which was better, to repent or to chase material things.”
