Zimbabwean Singer Shashl Signs to Universal Music
Rising Zimbabwean R&B singer Shashl has been signed to Universal Music. The 18 year old South African based singer shared the news via her social media.
Shashl burst onto the music scene in 2017 with her debut single ‘No More’. She appeared on the cover of lifestyle magazine Exposé alongside Lochnation and Brita Maselethulini.
Shashl whose real name is Ashleigh Angel Moyo got recognition for her single ‘No More’. Her record deal with one of the three biggest record labels was facilitated by Stanley Botsch. Botsch is the Zimbabwean representative at Universal Music.
The record deal entails inter-alia, recording, publishing, manufacturing and distribution of Shashl’s music.
The newcomer’s manager, Wesley Williams shared his excitement for the new venture.
Shashl learnt at the Dominican Convent and aims to pursue medicine. She not only sings but also writes her own music and plays several instruments.
She has projects with Mr Kamera, Simba Tagz, Young Nash and Brian Soko. Though she is based in South Africa, she has performed in Zimbabwe. She performed at US based singer Brian Nhira’s Music Night in Borrowdale, Harare.
