Humbleness at the epitomy of Jah Prayzah’s success

Most celebrities, after lapping the sweet taste of fame, would never remember their roots let alone visit their rural homes. Jah Prayzah defied odds by paying a visit to his rural home of Uzumba. Whilst most youths would rather spend their time in clubs or hotels, Jah Prayzah opted to spend some quality time with the people that nurtured him and watched him grow up to become the person that he is today.

Jah Prayzah shared pictures in which he is seen eating traditional cucumbers(magaka eminzwa) with his relatives and just relaxing outside a hut. A lot of lessons can be drawn from this simple act especially for the youth.

There is a looming possibility that the rural setup is going to become extinct in years to come. Most people hardly ever return to their rural homes or even dream of maintaining them. A lot of houses in these areas have simply given in and collapsed.

Back in the days, people would celebrate holidays such as Christmas and new year at their rural homes, a beast would be slaughtered and the highlight of the day would be a long walk to the grocery shops in one’s Sunday best. Unfortunately with the relocation of most people to other countries and to the urban areas, the practice has been forsaken. 

The gesture by Jah Prayzah to reconnect with his past must be hailed as a positive influence on the youth. Last year, Jah Prayzah started a computerization program at one of his former schools.
