Energy Mutodi comes under fire for loose tongue

Energy Mutodi has once again come under the spotlight for his seemingly loose tongue after attacking musician Thomas Mapfumo.

The minister said good music does not translate to good politics. He further clarified his assertions by citing one of the most celebrated musicians of all time in Zimbabwe Thomas Mapfumo. He said the man was a music icon who used to sing about the liberation struggle. He however rounded off his message by saying Mapfumo got lost when it comes to politics. This did not go down well with followers of Mukanya, who lambasted the minister for being shallow minded and fro trying to force his own political opinions on others.

Most people said Mapfumo remains an icon both in terms of music and politics. The Chimurenga hitmaker fled to exile decades ago after speaking out against the Mugabe regime. Some of his songs were banned on radio and television and he was branded a treasonous element.

Mapfumo only set foot in the country in 2018 after the coup that toppled the Mugabe regime. He received a here’s welcome.

Mutodi is quite famous for his careless sentiments and often rambles about politics much to the dismay of many social media followers. Some have said he lacks the intelligence required of a minister in this century.

Most people came to the defence of Mapfumo and said Mutodi was treading dangerously as such utterances could make him lose his popularity and support
