Young Warriors lose to Burkina Faso

The Zimbabwe under 23 soccer team got their African games campaign off to a losing start after losing 1 nil to Burkina Faso. The Young Warriors who travelled to Congo Brazzaville without several of their top players were made to pay for clubs that refused to release players for the trip as Burkina Faso claimed a 1 nil win.

The young warriors conceded in the 63rd minute and failed to recover thereafter. The loss to Burkina Faso sees Zimbabwe bottom of group A with no points recorded.

In another African games group A encounter Congo Brazzaville edged Sudan 2-1. As a result of the win Congo assumed pole position despite having the same number of points as Burkina Faso who overcame Zimbabwe.

The Young warriors will have to pick themselves up in their next encounters against Congo and Sudan.
