Lil Wayne’s shooting declared a hoax

Police have confirmed a disturbing call they received on Wednesday (11.03.15) claiming four people had been shot from inside Lil Wayne’s Miami beach home was a hoax.

Emergency services surrounded the rapper’s $9.4 million property at midday after an unidentified man alleged he had shot four people inside the mansion and “required assistance.”

But it has now been established the phone call was a practical joke after officers entered the 10-bedroom home and inspected each room before giving it the all-clear and declaring it a sham.

Taking to his Twitter account, the 32-year-old musician tweeted: “Prank kall mane (sic).”

Fans were sent into a frenzy when the news broke as they feared Lil Wayne – whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr – was one of the alleged people injured in the fake shooting.

However, his record label Young Money, which was founded by him in 2005, soon reassured people by tweeting: “Wayne is okay. Wasn’t home during alleged events.”

Detectives are now trying to determine who made the phone call.

Meanwhile, on Saturday (07.03.15), reports emerged on social networking sites that the rapper had been killed in a shooting at a club in Charlotte, North Carolina, after he was pictured with Label Club with musician T.I. earlier that night.

Lil Wayne is sent to jail for one year on a gun charge.
However, it is not known whether he was at the hotspot at the time of the incident or if he was injured in the incident.

Police later confirmed two people had been rushed to hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
