Phillip Chiyangwa Joins Twitter

Another day another must follow twitter account, don’t get us wrong we’re not complaining, at all. Actually we couldn’t be more excited if we tried.

Phillip Chiyangwa has finally joined twitter. After all these years! The mogul joined the popular social media platform on Friday and was given a warm welcome by none other than the lady who will be watching his tweets closely, Ruvhi Pari.

Zimbabweans were late bloomers with twitter, even when Econet gave us free twitter, it still was less popular than Facebook. For many people it’s become a hub for meeting people with similar business ideas and expressing frustrations and concerns with our country. It’s the sudden interest however, politicians and some of the biggest names have with twitter that we find interesting.

The platform has made overnight twelebs out of some of Zimbabwe’s prominent politicians like Jonathan Moyo and Saviour Kasukuwere who seem to not mind opening their timelines any time they hear a notification. They say social media has given a voice to the voiceless, well, now we get to find out from the horses’ mouths what they really think.

Chiyangwa is yet to tweet but we are certain it won’t be anything short of entertaining. We wonder which politician you’d want to join twitter next!

Only three days and he’s already gotten over five hundred followers. It’s not Obama numbers but hey still a lot. Follow him @chiyangwa_phil and let’s get tweeting!
