Urban grooves duo Extra large recently announced that they have gone their separate ways. The two had been working together for over two decades. The group consisted of Norman Manwere and Jim Mangezi. In an official statement online Manwere wrote, “We have decided to take a break from Extra large to try and rediscover ourselves and to rebrand as a group”.
The musical duo blew fans away with catchy songs such as Maroja,Muti wemsango and Chido chemoyo. They also collaborated with the likes of Trevor D and Sniper. Extra large were the major proponents of urban grooves music in Zimbabwe. Back in the day, one could not speak of urban grooves music without mentioning nthr group.
The group has however promised fans that they will regroup in the near future. They appealed for support from their fans in the meantime as they work on their solo projects. Most people said they were heartbroken at the split, as the two worked so well together. They however said they will continue offering support to the artists.
