Acie Lumumba promises to go after “criminals” around ED .

Controvesial politician Acie Lumumba has promised to go after what he terms, "criminals" around the president of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa. In an emotional message on Twitter, the self proclaimed "people's champion" said that the people have had enough and he was willing to make a difference.

He tweeted," There are criminals around president ED. I am going after them". Lumumba then lambasted the president for either being too ignorant or weak. He said the biggest losers in the current economic crisis are the youths, in particular the Zanu Pf youths, who were willing to put their life in the line for the president. Lumumba's assurance comes at a time when most people are simply fed up with the economic situation in the country. 

Several attempts at protesting have been thwarted by the police and people have had to bear the brunt of cash shortages, ridiculous price hike, fuel scarcity and a dilapidated health care system among other woes. In his state of the nation address, the president said measures were being put in place to revive the economy. 

Lumumba is known for his daring and bold stunts. At one time he named and shamed some RBZ officials whom he claimed were responsible for fuelling the black market. The former Zanu Pf youth activist and loyalist to tell late former president RG Mugabe, is expected to pull similar stunt in order to single out the said criminals around the president.
