Wilfred Mugeyi selects his dream team of former team mates
Former Black Aces, Bush Bucks, Ajax Cape town and Warriors forward Wilfred Mugeyi has named his dream team comprised of players he had the opportunity of playing alongside during his football career.
The squad released by South African football website kickoff.com is dominated by former Warriors teammates and boasts of several talented yester year players. In goals Mugeyi opted for former Black Aces goalkeeper Emmanuel Nyahuma, a player he played alongside at the now defunct Highfield based side. When referring to Nyahuma, Mugeyi says “Nyahuma was very reliable, a shot stopper, made things easier for myself by commanding his area and the back four, a good distributor of the ball”.
At right back Mugeyi opts for Engelbert Dinha with Francis Shonhyai being the player he slots in at left back. When referring to Shonhayi Mugeyi describes the former Warriors captain as a true leader who could stand up for the group if there was a problem. He also reckons Shonhayi is one of the best left footers he played with.
In the centre back positions Mugeyi opts for Norman Mapeza and Kaitano Tembo with Shane Poggenpoel making his squad in the centre of midfield. Thabo Mngomeni is the other central midfielder Mugeyi opts for with Brendon Augustine making it on the right side of midfield. On the left side of midfield Mugeyi selects Vitalis Takawira,”When he started dribbling it was like you were watching a PlayStation. He was a nightmare for defenders”.
As for the strikers Mugeyi includes himself as well as Peter Ndlovu to conclude the 11 man list of players he considers to be the best he ever played with.
