Ngodzo’s coaching dream

Former Highlanders and Zimbabwe national soccer team player Johannes Ngodzo has opened up on his desire of establishing himself as a top coach in the country. In an interview on in Touch With A Legend Ngodzo said “My ambition is to become one of the top coaches. i can say one of my top achievements was guiding Bantu Rovers to a Division one championship but i want to achieve more” said Ngodzo.

Ngodzo was this year appointed as a Betis Academy Zimbabwe coach alongside Gift Lunga junior and Murape Murape who is the projects head coach. Ngodzo and Lunga will take charge of the Betis programme in Bulawayo while Murape Murape who is the head coach will be based in Bulawayo while also closely monitoring developments in other regions.

Apart from his coaching ambitions Ngodzo also took time to reflect on a very promising career which was derailed by injury. Ngodzo who was popularly known as “Tshisa” or “Signature” during his playing days is widely regarded as one of the top midfielders to come out of Zimbabwe.

When looking back at his time with the Warriors Johannes spoke about his national team debut against Mali and how psychologically taunting it was to face a side with well physically built players.
