Can Chitembwe engineer Caps’ revival?

By Geronimo News

A lurching crisis last year climaxed when Caps United Head Coach Lloyd Chitembwe was called out by fans for clear the air talks where supporters registered their dissatisfaction with how their side was performing.

Constant player boycotts owing to unpaid salaries and bonuses made Makepekepe a laughing stock but the green machine will be hoping for improved stability when the 2023 PSL season gets underway.

Having had adequate time to source for funding to cater for their season’s budget, Caps United fans will not be accepting any excuses as clubs build up for the start of the coming season.

Caps United has been among clubs that have been busy on the transfer market with Makepekepe managing to lure Godknows Murwira, Adrian Silla, Kelvin Madzongwe and Ashley Reyners to the club.

After last season at one point being strong candidates for relegation, the club will be hoping for better fortunes this time around.

When Caps United last won the league title in 2016 and qualified for the Caf Champions League mini-league phase in 2017 Lloyd Chitembwe was at the helm, and given that he will be in charge in the coming season, Caps United supporters have every reason to believer that the club could perhaps witness better fortunes.

With added experience within their ranks, Caps United are expected to be a more stable outfit in the coming season. According to reports Norman Mapeza has named Caps United among clubs with a strong chance of landing the league title but it remains to be seen how competitive the green Machine will be.
