DeMbare’s strike force letting them down
DeMbare head coach Herbert Maruwa has bemoaned his side’s lack thereof of the cutting edge after recording yet another goalless draw at home to Manica Diamonds at the giant National Sport Stadium on Sunday.
The draw which was their third on the trot and fifth overall since the start of the 2023 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League sums up the not so Glamour Boys inconsistence in this campaign.
The former Zimbabwe champions lacked the spark in all aspects of the game with their drab performance leaving a lot to be desired especially for a team that is looking to challenge for the championship this year.
However, Dynamos had a glorious opportunity to have sealed the match deep in the second half but substitute Jayden Bakare completely missed the ball inside the area with the goal at his mercy.
Had he [Bakare] managed to connect the hard and low cross, that would probably have made the difference between the hosts and the visitors.
“We are not worried with the way we are playing, only that we are not clinical in front of goal. We will keep pushing and work on our finishing. I think it was a good game from both teams. Manica Diamonds came here to play good football. We also played very well save for the fact that we didn’t score. We missed a lot of chances,” said Maruwa after the game.
Following Sunday’s result, Dynamos remained 8th on the standings with 14 points accumulated from 3 wins and 5 stalemates.
