Are you interested in creating innovative solutions for decentral energy, water and food supply in African communities while working in an international and interdisciplinary environment? Then the two-week summer school “Development by Innovation” from 1 – 14 October 2017 at the Technical University of Munich (TUM, Germany) could be perfect for you!
The first TUM Summer School on Energy, Water & Food Technologies in Africa, named “Development by Innovation” will be hosted from October 2 to October 13 2017 at TUM Campus Garching.
The Summer School aims to create innovative concepts for sustainable Energy, Water- and Food supply in interdisciplinary and international teams with students from African partner universities.
Aim and Scope
During the first week, TUM scientists from various research fields will teach methods regarding decentral energy, water and food technologies and their utilization in Africa.
Throughout the following week the participants of the summer school (students from African universities as well as from TUM) will be split in interdisciplinary teams. By applying the learned methods, each team will develop a concept for the supply of energy, water and food for a certain location in Africa.
Cultural immersion in everyday life in Germany and visits to high-tech locations in and around Munich round off the program. As a convenient side effect, participants will exercise and develop their intercultural skills with each other.
