Explain the concept of your music? Where do you draw your inspiration from?

Coming from a 3rd world country we are forced into certain careers because people still believe that you can not earn a living if you don’t take the orthodox route,which is get good grades and get a job. Basically we are in a place where you are told your dream is not a realistic dream if its not becoming a doctor, accountant etc henceforth why our music is mostly about dreams

If you were given the opportunity to collaborate with one of the greatest classically trained artists in the world, who would it be and why?

ummm honestly we were asked that question about 2years ago and it has to be Tinashe, so we went on to do a track with her. At this point we would want more tracks with her because her voice seems to be getting better lol not that she wasn’t good then but wow hehehe she’s amazing.

How did the collaboration with Tinashe come about?

You know we had just dropped 80 degrees which did really well considering that not many Zimbabwean artists use English and succeed to getting a following. So after we won the best new comer award we were in contact with her producer who wanted to put us on a different project but he ended up sending a project he was working on with Tinashe.

What was Amvis up to in 2014?

This year we released an international mix-tape titled beaming which features a lot of international dj’s and producers such as Daklip from the USA, Nightfall from the UK, Dragon fly from France, Mystik8 from Switzerland, Asario from Germany, D-Evils from the USA among others.

What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever done to you or for you?

I don’t know if its the craziest but its one of the most touching thing a fan has said to me which was ,one of our songs got him through the hardest break-up of his life. His wife had left him and he had ‘Rudo Rwaramba’ on repeat, we will never forget that one hey

What should we look forward to the most on your upcoming project or projects

Hehe expect flames hey! 2015 is going to be fire the new Amvis Ep is halfway through and will be available in the first quarter of the year. We also have the Divine and Karizma album coming out(The guys who won Zims got talent this year). Not forgetting Wishes who has a couple tracks with Metaphysics has a project that’s done being recorded. We also have Code 263 who are launching their Ep this December.

Amvis as a group has such a cool dress sense, where do you draw your fashion inspiration from?

Haha really do we now?? Lol we have a very good designer 7.30 who just won the Zim Fashion week by the way. We been working together for more than 3 years now and we are about to expand our brand so watch for that in 2015

Any words of wisdom for the youth of Zimbabwe?

Chasing your dreams your vision needs to be x-ray. People will always try put you down so you have to be positive and see through the ‘BS’
