DEMO Africa is a launch pad for emerging technology and trends, attracting over 2000 people from around the globe to experience the finest African innovations. Selected new technology products are introduced to an audience of investors, technology buyers, corporate acquirers, strategic partners, global press and prolific bloggers. DEMO Africa is part of the global DEMO network. What is the Application Criteria?
– Fully registered company
– Talented team with a working and demonstrable product.
– Viable and scalable business model
– Ability to deliver product to market.
What is the preferred language for content delivery?
For the first time ever on a DEMO Stage, startups will pitch and deliver content in English or French.
What is the required time commitment?
DEMO Africa finalists will spend 4 days for the overall event. The first 2 days for the Lions@frica bootcamp and the final 2 days for the main event. As a lead up to the main event, finalists will be engaged in a virtual bootcamp for six weeks with a variety of deliverables, mentoring, coaching and feedback.
What are the rules for the DEMO day?
Each startup has 6 minutes to pitch their idea to the audience, and another 5 minutes to respond to questions from the judging panel.
Are there any winners for DEMO Africa?
The top five startups from DEMO Africa will be sponsored to Silicon Valley for an all expense paid trip to be part of the Lions@frica Innovation Tour where they will receive further exposure to a global innovation ecosystem, and get a chance to interact with leading Silicon valley stakeholders.
