Youth Mapping: International NGO
An International NGO working in Zimbabwe is seeking to engage a consultant/s or consultancy group to carry out an in-depth mapping of youth organisations and Social Movements in Zimbabwe to find out who is doing what, how, and where. The main purpose of the mapping is to build a database of local and national level of organisations working with young people on various issues related to social justice. It is also to document and map social movements in Zimbabwe pursuing the social change agenda at local and national level.
Key Deliverables
At the least, the following outputs will be required: An inception report which responds to the scope of work, clearly outlining the timeline and the proposed methodology; Field work implementation plan; Data collection tools to be applied; A comprehensive mapping report.
Qualifications and Experience Require
A relevant degree in International and Political Affairs, Law, Population and Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field; Knowledge and understanding of the civil society dynamics and social movement in Zimbabwe;
At least 10 years’ experience in the design and implementation of mapping projects, assessments or surveys including qualitative and quantitative data collection;
Excellent knowledge and understanding of research methodologies and processes;
Experience in gathering and systematizing fairly large amounts of data; Experience with social movements; non-profit, non-governmental organisations working with young people;
Excellent spoken and written English, Ndebele, Shona and Tonga will be an added advantage.
Duration of Consultancy
The research should be completed in 22 days, which will include field work plan, report compilation and submission.
