Prostitutes pounce on tobacco farmers
It is the tobbacco selling season and there couldn’t be more exctiment for farmers as they jostle to bid their produce at the auction floors. Indeed the auction floors are full of activity with the farmers and buyers negotiating prices and showing off their hard work. Farmers who come to sell their produce usually sleep in makeshift houses near the floors as they travel a long way to make it to the floors.
However the opening of the auction floors is not a welcome development for the farmers only. In the heat of the moment prostitutes, robbers and thieves prey on the unsuspecting farmers in order to snatch away their hard earned monetary rewards. There have been reports in the past whereby farmers were reaped off of all their earnings by the trio.
Farmers should be alert at all times especially after receiving money from their sales. Ladies of the night have been known to lure the unsuspecting men into one one night stands whereby they then take off with all their clients’ earnings after their sexual escapades. A few years ago one farmer had to bear the humiliation of going back to his rural home penilless after succumbing to the advances of a prostitute who later on took off with all the proceeds from his tobbacco sale.
The auction floors are seen as a great business hotspot for thieves who steal from the farmers using sophisticated modus operandi. One is left to wonder how a human being could be so insensitive towards another who would have toiled hard to eventually come up with a good tobbacco crop.
