Jah Prayzah reflects on his musical path.
Celebrated musician Jah Prayzah took some time to visit his former teacher. He proudly announced on social media how one Mr Musimbe had helped him achieve his musical career.
Jah Prayzah stated that it was Mr Musimbe who had taught him how to play mbira. He had also recorded his very first record on a cassette with Mr Musimbe. Jah Prayzah attributed his success to the teacher. He said that he had used all the skills he had acquired from Mr Musimbe to become the person the he is today. He said he was grateful.
Jah Prayzah has managed to build a budding music career. His melodious voice and meaningful lyrics have earned the reputation as one of the best musicians in Africa. He has also won numerous accolades both locally and internationally.
Jah Prayzah has collaborated with top internationally recognized artiss such as Patoranking, Diamond Platinumz and the South African group Mafikizolo. He has toured many countries and has also perfomed at the Coke Studio in Kenya where his rendition song of Jason Darulo’s ‘In my head’ clearly stunned many viewers.
Jah Prayzah has been commended by most of his followers for reverting back to the person who mentored him musically and for giving credit where it is due unlike some artists. His show of humility is indeed an indication of his humble character. Jah Prayzah has released songs such as ‘Ndini ndamubata’,’Chikomo’, ‘Eriza’ and ‘Dzamutsana’ among others which were all hits.
