Killer Zim pilot appears in court in SA

The Zimbabwean pilot who caused the death of a Nigerian national and caused severe injuries to another lady recently appeared in court. Kelvin Zirema is facing charges of drunk driving, reckless driving, contravention of the immigration act and culpable homicide. The charges emanate from the incident that occurred towards Kings beach.

Zirema alleges that he had consumed 3 whiskeysand a shooter before going behind the wheel. Whilst driving he had lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road. He had subsequently rammed into cars parked near the Humewood hotel. Upon impact one Anthony Agbo had died on the spot. Another woman had lost her leg. Zirema had fled the crime scene but was arrested later.

The pilot had been denied bail initially but later on had it granted. He is said to be in South Africa illegally.
