Every woman knows that the kitchen can be a frustrating place in the home. Trying out new recipes and spending some time putting some order in your drawers may be therapeutic if these top ten hacks are employed.
1 Give your herbs lasting freshness by putting them in a jar, half-filled with water.
2 In a hurry to get your onions browned, simply cover them with a lid as they cook.
3 To retain the freshness of mushrooms put them in a plastic bag and place in the fridge.
4 Create your own buttermilk by adding a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar to fresh milk.
5 Place cut and peeled potatoes in a dish full of water to avoid browning before cooking.
6 Wrap the ends of bananas with plastic wrap. Better yet separate the banana ends from one bunch.
7 Check the freshness of eggs by placing them in a bowl of cold water. If they sink, they are still fresh. If however, they float to the bottom it means they are no longer fresh.

9 Roll citrus fruits such as likes, lemon and oranges before cutting or squeezing them. Rolling makes them softer and easier to peel.
