Renowned bishop and author Bishop Berry Dambaza allegedly took his own life on Monday. The man of cloth plunged to his death from the third floor of Rezende mall in the Harare CBD area. This is where the church’s ministry is also housed.
It has been said that the bishop caught his wife pants down with the church’s treasurer. Police were immediately called to the scene and confirmed the incident. A cellphone was recovered from the deceased and a police source said that indeed there seemed to be marital problems between the bishop and his wife. The alleged trouble in paradise might have led to the demise of the man of God.
Bishop Dambaza was a well respected senior pastor at the church. He wrote two books namely,”How to become a vessel that God can use” and “How to receive and release the annointing”.
The church issued an official statement confirming that incident. They said the bishop had indeed died under mysterious circumstances. Part if their statement read,”The cause and circumstances surrounding his death are under police investigation”.
Marital woes are rampant in Zimbabwe especially with the current economic meltdown. Most marriages are unfortunately crumbling. The number of people taking their own lives is on the rise as a result of marital problems. Many people, especially church members, expressed shock at the development. Tributes have also been pouring in for the late pastor.
