Why are Zimbabweans not using Hende motos
Fuel has become a very expensive everyday basic commodity in Zimbabwe. Most people can hardly afford to buy petrol and diesel which are costing around ZWL$17 a litre. The price of petrol keeps skyrocketing on a daily basis. This is why most local people ought to be made aware of alternative modes of transport that arev cost effective and fuel savers at the same time. So why arent people using hende motos/
Hende motos are light weight three wheeled vehicles. countries such as India and Nigeria use these cost effective vehicles on a daily basis. The vehicles consume less fuel and can travel up to 120km on just one litre of fuel! Due to their small size they can easily wiggle through traffic thereby lessening congestion. They are indeed a very cheap and convinient way of commuting.
local businessman Devine Mafuna had announced early this year that these vehicles will be made available to Zimbabwe to ease transport and fuel challenges. It remains to be seen whether they will receive a warm welcome. Introduction of these alternatives will indeed improve the transport system in the country and perhaps lower the high transport fess being charged by commuter omnibus operators.
Strive Masiyiwa recently introduced electric powered vehicles, another move which has been commended.
