Charles Mungoshi Jnr shows appreciation to his mum

Charles Mungoshi Jnr simply adores his mother. The son of prominent author Charles Mungoshi and his actress mum Jesesi Mungoshi recently had some words of admiration for his mother. Charles said his mother is an icon in the arts industry and her contribution ought to be recognised.

Writing on his Facebook, Charles wrote,” Mum you are a jewel, the system may not appreciate your contribution to the art industry, you are still a jewel because Zimbabwe loves you! Indeed Jesesi is one of the most seasoned actors of our time. Her role in the movie Neria show cased her natural acting talent and great skills. Some people still actually just refer to her as Neria up to this day.

Her recent role in the movie Cook off has also been widely praised. The film was the first ever production from Zimbabwe to be aired on Netflix. She certainly still has it. Jesesi has also starred in a number of music videos such as Kumahumbwe by Jah Prayzah. She usually portrays the role of a loving mother. This comes out really well given her sweet nature.

Charles said people should start recognising their own. He clearly has so much admiration for his mother. He also said just because something has been happening for a long time does not mean it is justified.

Charles Mungoshi’s father passed away last year, yet another talented figure whose work did not receive the publicity it deserves. Mungoshi wrote several books most of which were used at schools. Jesesi remains one of the best actresses to come out of Zimbabwe. She is indeed a gem
