FC Platinum returns to action

Zimbabwe’s Premier Soccer League is back in full swing with matchday 3 rescheduled fixtures taking centre stage across the country over the weekend.

The games will stretch from Friday up until Sunday and it is expected that teams will register a clean bill of health for the encounters to continue as planned.

With a packed weekend which has 8 games lined up across 6 venues, champions FC Platinum, whose match against Bulawayo Chiefs last week was brought forward due to the COVID-19 crisis, will date the same opponents at Mandava Stadium on Sunday.

In what is expected to be a pulsating encounter which is set to put to test the tactical acumen of two great coaches Frenchman Nilton Terosso of Bulawayo Chiefs and FC Platinum’s Norman Mapeza, it remains for everyone to see who will be the last man standing.

For Mapeza, a man who was tasked to guide the Warriors at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon in January 2022, a win will just be the right dose ahead of the team’s preparations for the tough yet exciting competition.

Should Kugona Kunenge Kudada wins they will get back to the top while a loss will guarantee the Bulawayo based outfit a place in the top 4.

The platinum miners have so far won all their two opening matches of the season beating new boys Tenax 6-1 on matchday 1 before dispatching Chicken Inn 2-1 in one of the most fiercely contested encounters played so far.
