By Geronimo News

Ambitious Castle Lager Premier Soccer League outfit Ngezi Platinum Stars have broken camp as they seek to give players a bit of a rest.

After reassembling at their base in Mhondoro on the turn of the New Year, Madamburo had been hard at work with Takesure Chiragwi grilling his charges as he sought to ensure that they get in the best possible shape ahead of the start of the 2023 PSL season which is set to get underway at the beginning of March.

Ngezi Platinum Stars then embarked on a 12-day pre-season camp in Victoria Falls where Madamburo got to play friendlies against Hwange FC as well as ZPC Hwange.

With the Victoria Falls camp coming to an end at the weekend, the Madamburo technical department then gave the players a break with the squad expected to regroup next week.

Ngezi Platinum Stars is hoping to build on a fourth-place finish last season as the club seeks to find a formula of clinching a maiden premiership title which has somewhat proven elusive since the club’s promotion into the topflight.

In a bid to bring glory to Mhondoro Ngezi, Madamburo have beefed up their squad with the acquisitions of Malvin Gaki, Claude Mapoka and Gareth Madhake expected to add value to the 2023 squad.

Despite losing players such as Anelka Chivandire, Tendai Matindife and Denver Mukamba, Ngezi Platinum Stars are hopeful of better times ahead.

Since Chiragwi took over the reigns at Madamburo there has been an air of optimism among fans in Mhondoro and hopes are high that Ngezi Platinum Stars can mount a serious challenge for the title in the coming season.
