Simba Nhivi sets up Academy
Simba Nhivi, a former player for Dynamos, Caps United, Supersport United, and Mamelodi Sundowns, has established his own academy, SN Academy, with the goal of nurturing exceptional talent.
Nhivi, who made a name for himself as a player, was forced into retirement due to frequent injuries and has since turned to coaching.
After coaching at Sam Centenary School in Belvedere, Nhivi moved to Direct Contact School in Mandara, while also setting up a junior development project which seeks to nurture young budding talent.
Having been exposed to top-tier development programs during his time with Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, Nhivi has emphasized the value of the experience he gained there.
“The experience, for instance at Mamelodi Sundowns, where the club is run professionally, was very enlightening. I learned a lot there. Even the colours of the academy are inspired by Mamelodi Sundowns. I believe I’ve been able to pass on the things I learned there to the kids,” he said.
Nhivi has been tirelessly working at the SN Academy, located at Oriel Boys High School in Chisipite, to create a development project that could potentially produce players who can shine in the domestic premiership.
While some players will be dreaming of playing on the domestic landscape, several of the youngsters at SN Academy are hoping to one day make it big and secure contracts at top international clubs.
Simba Nhivi burst onto the football scene as a teenager after representing Pamushana High School at the Copa coca Cola Nash championships before being lured to the capital by Caps United. Following a goal scoring blitz at the Green Machine, Nhivi then moved to South Africa where he was signed by Mamelodi Sundowns before turning out for Supersport.
