Zimbabwe has successfully opened doors to more than 200 investment opportunities by showcasing its economic potential through sports at the ongoing T10 tournament in Sri Lanka. The country has captured the international spotlight, positioning itself as an attractive destination for global investors across various sectors, including mining, agriculture, ICT, and manufacturing.
Shaji Ul Mulk, the chairman of T Ten Global Sports, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating that Zimbabwe has managed to gain significant international attention. He confirmed that over 200 investment inquiries have been received, and efforts are underway to facilitate these investments through collaboration with Dr. Paul Tungwarara, the Special Presidential Investment Advisor. According to Ul Mulk, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with a strong indication that more international delegations will be heading to Zimbabwe next year to explore the available opportunities.
Dr. Tungwarara emphasized that Zimbabwe will continue to leverage global platforms to promote its economic potential. He expressed gratitude to President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa for his leadership, which has enabled the country to raise its profile internationally. The influx of investment inquiries, Dr. Tungwarara added, is a clear testament to the country’s growing reputation as a hub for business and investment.
This development is seen as a crucial step toward diversifying Zimbabwe’s economy, with sports playing a pivotal role in bringing the country’s vast resources and investment opportunities to the global stage. The success at the T10 tournament marks a milestone in Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to attract international partnerships and boost its economic growth.
