Macheso and Somandla Ndebele Kick Off 2025 Showbiz Calendar with High-Energy Double-Header in Harare

Alick Macheso and Somandla “Mafia” Ndebele have kicked off the 2025 showbiz calendar with an electrifying performance that is sure to set the stage for a thrilling year. After spending much of the festive season together, performing and captivating fans, the two renowned sungura legends are proving that their musical bond is unstoppable.

Tonight, Macheso and Ndebele will officially launch their 2025 concert series with a highly anticipated double-header at the Warren Park Council Bar in Harare. Although Macheso’s performance at last week’s Swan Valley International Cigarettes launch was a prelude, this show marks his first official gig of the year. Fans are in for a treat as the two seasoned performers are set to showcase both classic hits and fresh tracks that are bound to captivate audiences. According to Macheso’s management, this performance promises to deliver fireworks and an unforgettable experience.

Danny Chiku, the event organiser and Warren Park Council Bar proprietor, expressed his excitement about the show, anticipating a large turnout. Chiku, who previously hosted Macheso in March last year, expects the concert to be a major hit. “The groundwork has been laid to ensure a successful show for sungura lovers in Harare. Macheso and Ndebele are showbiz veterans, and fans can expect a night to remember,” he said. Fans of mature music and legendary performances will not want to miss this unique opportunity to experience both Macheso and Ndebele live.

Ndebele, who has been in the music industry since 1989, also shared his enthusiasm about the partnership with Macheso. “It’s a blessing to perform alongside Baba Sharo (Macheso) again,” he remarked. “Our fans have enjoyed our shows together, and we’re excited for more performances as we continue our partnership.” Ndebele also expressed his gratitude to Macheso’s management for making their collaboration possible, and he’s eager to continue growing their fan base through their combined efforts.

Tichaona Makahamadze, Macheso’s publicist, revealed that after a well-deserved holiday break, the team is back in full force. “We’ve been rehearsing and are ready to give our fans an amazing performance. The timing is perfect for us to return to the stage after the January blues, when fans are finally recovering from festive season expenses,” he said.

In addition to the Warren Park show, Macheso is set to perform in Kotwa, Mudzi District tomorrow. This event promises to be a pure Orchestra Mberikwazvo performance, with no supporting acts, offering fans in that area an authentic experience of Macheso’s music.

As these living legends continue their musical journey together, the year ahead looks to be filled with exciting performances that will leave fans eager for more. The Macheso-Ndebele partnership is undoubtedly one to watch in 2025, as they continue to captivate audiences across Zimbabwe.
