Tino Kadewere Joins Aris Thessaloniki After Leaving FC Nantes

Zimbabwe Warriors forward Tino Kadewere has officially completed a move to Greek Super League club Aris Thessaloniki, following a mutual contract termination with French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes. The 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Thessaloniki-based team on a free transfer.

Kadewere was set to enter the final year of his contract with Nantes but opted to part ways with the French club in pursuit of a fresh start after a challenging spell. His move to Aris offers an opportunity to reignite his career in a new league and environment.

The Zimbabwean international originally joined Nantes from Olympique Lyonnais, first on loan before making the switch permanent last year. However, his time at the Ligue 1 club was hampered by a string of injuries, limiting his impact on the pitch. He scored four goals in 28 appearances, a return that fell short of expectations given his previous performances in France’s top flight.

Despite the challenges, Nantes expressed confidence in Kadewere’s potential to succeed in Greece. The club included sell-on clauses in the deal, ensuring they benefit if the striker makes a future transfer move.

In an official statement, FC Nantes paid tribute to the player:
“FC Nantes wish Tino the best for the rest of his career and warmly thank him for everything he has contributed to the Club.”

Kadewere will now look to re-establish himself as a key player at Aris Thessaloniki and stake his claim for regular football ahead of Zimbabwe’s international campaigns. Known for his work ethic, technical ability, and eye for goal, the forward is expected to bring added firepower to the Greek side’s attacking lineup.

His move to Aris also comes at a crucial time in his career, offering a platform to bounce back and regain form in a competitive league environment. For Zimbabwe fans, all eyes will be on Kadewere as he embarks on this new chapter in Greek football.
