Kaleisha Chiyaka Gears Up for Kids and Teens Global Pageant 2026

Fresh from her crowning as Mini Miss Global Zimbabwe, nine-year-old Kaleisha Chiyaka is intensifying preparations to represent Zimbabwe at the Kids and Teens Global Pageant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, scheduled for April 5–10, 2026. On the second day of her preparation, Kaleisha reflected on the responsibility of carrying the national flag on an international stage. “It feels unbelievable that I will be representing Zimbabwe,” she said. “I am excited to meet other children from different countries, see other continents and learn about other cultures.”
Kaleisha will compete in the Mini Miss Global category, featuring contestants aged nine to 12. She will face competitors from over 30 countries, including defending titleholder Lin Yang Yang of Cambodia. The pageant, organized by Leading Management, spans six days and five nights and emphasizes talent, culture, national costumes, and leadership over traditional beauty standards.
A polyglot fluent in four languages, Kaleisha balances schoolwork with modelling, singing, and gaming. She also uses her platform to advocate against bullying related to height and body image. Reflecting on her journey, she noted the importance of persistence. “I faced challenges of people bullying me because of my height and my body, but my teachers encouraged me,” she shared. “I told myself that if another child can do it, I can do it too.”
Kaleisha earned her national title through a school-introduced pageant, a pathway that has increasingly fostered young talent in Zimbabwe’s growing kids and teens modelling sector. As she continues her preparations, her vision extends beyond personal achievement. “I want other children in Zimbabwe and Africa to believe in themselves,” she said, “and to know that their dreams are possible.”
Kaleisha’s story highlights the rise of Zimbabwean youth in international pageantry and serves as an inspiration for young talents seeking to balance academics, personal growth, and global representation. This upcoming journey to Kuala Lumpur positions Kaleisha as a promising ambassador of Zimbabwean culture, talent, and resilience on the world stage.
