Xantel Set to Launch Debut Afro-Soul EP Usizo

Upcoming songstress Xantel, born Chantel Gugulethu Sibanda, is preparing to release her debut EP, Usizo, on March 6, marking her entry into Zimbabwe’s Afro-Soul scene. The 23-year-old singer has crafted a four-track collection produced by Certifyd Audio, featuring Usizo, Ngizizwa, Thatha, and Emoyeni. Each song reflects personal experiences, struggles, victories, and moments of reflection in nature, offering listeners relatable and motivational music. Xantel described her EP as a platform to bring hope, confidence, and connection through her unique style, voice, and creativity.

The EP opens with the title track Usizo, which encourages listeners to hold on and reminds them that help is near. Ngizizwa explores liberation from stress and depression, emphasizing the power of support and comfort. Thatha celebrates love, care, and emotional healing, while Emoyeni, inspired by the Shona phrase “Lukhona Usizo,” embodies triumph and joy after overcoming challenges. Xantel explained that her goal is to inspire listeners, offering motivation, strength, and resilience through each song.

Xantel plans collaborations with notable local artists, expressing interest in working with Jay Prayzah for his spiritual and reality-based music and MJ Sings. She aims to create music that resonates with audiences both locally and internationally, blending authenticity with universal appeal. Her Afro-Soul sound is designed to connect deeply with listeners while showcasing contemporary Zimbabwean music talent.

In addition to the EP launch, Xantel intends to tour across Zimbabwe and abroad, engaging fans and establishing her presence on the music scene.
