As exciting as graduating is, there are many things we were never told about life after college or at least the first year after graduating. We were thinking moving out, dream job and dream salary but before you get all excited about these let us shed some light on the real hard truths about your first year after graduating.
1. You won’t have your dream job
So you’re fresh out of college with little to no work experience of course you’re not going to have your dream job right away. Unless you’re working for family company or you have crazy connections. But don’t be discouraged it’s only a matter of couple of years till you gt there.
2. You probably won’t move out of your parents’ house
How exciting was it when you chose that college so far away from home? Well, now you get to be kid again, for a while fighting with your siblings and trying to avoid chores. The reality is you’re most likely not going to be able to afford that uptown apartment you thought you’d move into right after college.
3. No dream salary, just yet
You’re not going to get your dream salary from an entry level job. Though your first salary will still seem like a lot, bills will soon remind you who’s boss.
4. You’ll feel stuck
You will want to have the life you have imagined a graduate lives, do more, be more. The reality is you will get stuck when everyone around around you seems to be doing great with their own lives. Just remember, it’s okay, it won’t be long.
5. Dating is almost impossible
Remember how fun dating was in college? Well, it’s a whole new ball game after college unless if you’re one of those who marries their college sweethearts. You’ll soon find it’s difficult to find someone close to your age, with a career on the right path like you and also nice.
