Zimsec Nullifies 2017 O’ Level English
ZIMSEC has nullified the November 2017 Ordinary Level examination English Language Paper 2. This comes after rumours of widespread cheating spread through social media.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Paul Mavima has said that the paper will be rewritten. The examination is scheduled for Friday, February 16, from 1000hrs to 1200 hours.
The examinations body has also suspended the release of the 2017 Ordinary Level results until the re-writing and re-marking of the exams.
Candidates who were caught cheating in the last exam have been banned from the new examination. Zimsec has already nullified the results for all subjects and all students at Nagle House School in Marondera after students were caught cheating. Some of the students from the school have been arrested and the case is still pending at the courts.
In a press statement by the Professor Mavima he said, “Candidates who have been informed of the cancellation of results because of cheating during the Examinations in
a. all subjects
b. English Language only
Should not re-write this English Language Paper 2 and this includes those who were prosecuted and sentenced.”
