“The African continent holds a special place in my heart” Prince William confesses.
The UK Africa summit that is currently underway has seen the British monarchy enegaging various African heads of state as they seek to cement relations. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Catherine hosted representatives of African states at Buckingham palace. Prince William said Africa holds a special place in his heart. He went down memory lane and said when his mother passed away, Africa was the place that his father took him and his brother Harry. He also confessed that when he was considering an ideal place to propose to his wife Catherine he could think of a more fitting place than Kenya to get down on one knee.
The absence of Zimbabwe at the summit has however raised eyebrows. It seems the popurlar matpntra that Zimbabwe is now open for business has not attracted much attention from the giant European state. The Duke and Duchess have already had meetings with the president of Ghana and the president of Rwanda. The summit is bringing together heads of state, government and senior representatives from African countries, key multilateral agencies and high profile U.K and African businesses to demonstrate the strength of the relationship between the UK and Africa.
The African continent is indeed a place that most people love to channel their business interests because of its abundance of natural resources and mineral wealth.
