Celebrities speak out against xenophobic attacks.
Several celebrities have been speaking out against the recent wave of attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa. Xenophobic attacks have been rampant in some cities in South Africa with most foreigners being attacked, assaulted and tortured as locals intensify their efforts to drive out all foreigners.
Cassper Nyovest posted on his Instagram page a touching message and said there are better ways of resolving issues rather than xenophobia. He called on fellow South Afrcans to desist from such actions.
Manaka Ranaka also called on the president of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa to intervene. She questioned why the president was silent at such a critical time. The attacks on foreigners in South Africa is not a new phenomenon. Businesses belonging to foreigners have been burnt and foreigners killed in previous years.
Many people are living in fear and others have trooped back home to their respective countries as the violence escalates
