Kikky Badass Ordered to Pay US$18,000 for Defamation in Sexual Solicitation Case

Zimbabwean rapper Kikky Badass has found herself facing a financial setback after a judge ruled that she must pay US$18,000 in damages for defaming businessman Rodney Makausi. This order came from Justice Sunsley Zisengwe, who held Kikky responsible for allegations she made in 2023, claiming that Makausi had solicited sex from her.

Makausi, who had reportedly asked Kikky to remove the accusations before pursuing legal action, said the false claims had severely damaged his reputation. As a prominent Christian, lawyer, and businessman, he explained that the allegations tarnished his good standing and professional image.

In his court testimony, Makausi shared that Kikky’s post, which featured a photo of him along with the allegations, went viral on social media platforms, causing significant distress to him. He further detailed how the post implied he had tried to solicit sexual favors from Kikky, which he described as a damaging and unfounded accusation.

Makausi, who has operated Saratoga Makausi Law Chambers since 2013, explained that he had also been involved in various business ventures and had acquired several prime properties. As a devout Seventh-day Adventist, he emphasized that his faith and reputation are central to his life, and the allegations had a profound impact on both his personal and professional life.

Kikky, who admitted to posting the controversial content on Instagram, was ordered to pay the equivalent of US$18,000 in Zimbabwean currency as compensation for defamation.
