ZimOnline Radio Founder Simba Nyanhanga Found Dead at His Home

Simba Nyanhanga, the founder of ZimOnline Radio and a prominent figure in Zimbabwean media, has tragically passed away. Nyanhanga, who also ran the Miss Zimbabwe UK pageant and served as a spokesperson for former Vice President Joyce Mujuru, was found dead at his Harare home on Monday. His death has sent shockwaves through the media and entertainment communities, with many expressing their condolences and paying tribute to his legacy.

The cause of Nyanhanga’s death remains unclear, and further investigations are underway. However, his passing has left a void in both the radio industry and the hearts of those who knew him personally.

Nyanhanga’s nephew, Sir Titus VeTech, took to social media to mourn his uncle, describing him as a “larger than life” figure who was always there for his family. He recalled how Simba stood by him during a difficult period in 2018, offering support when others might have turned away. “I could always depend on him. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you in your last moments, Dad. RIP Simba the kingmaker,” VeTech wrote.

Academic and author Charlton Tsodzo also shared heartfelt words, acknowledging the complexity of Nyanhanga’s personality. While some found him stubborn and difficult, Tsodzo emphasized that he was ultimately a man of integrity who stood firm in his beliefs. “He was loved and hated in equal measure,” Tsodzo wrote, “but ultimately he was a good man who cared about his family and was a genuine lover of people.”

Simba Nyanhanga’s contributions to the media landscape, particularly in online radio, left a lasting impact. His work in creating a platform for Zimbabwean voices and promoting local talent through ZimOnline Radio was highly regarded. As the news of his passing continues to spread, many are reflecting on his entrepreneurial spirit and his role as a mentor and advocate for Zimbabwean culture abroad.

His death marks the end of an era for the ZimOnline Radio platform and a significant loss for the Zimbabwean community, both in the country and the diaspora. Nyanhanga’s legacy will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his media ventures, and his commitment to promoting Zimbabwean talent and voices.
