Netherlands’ Tilburg University To Visit Zimbabwe’s Midlands State University

Tilburg University from the Netherlands will be visiting Zimbabwe’s MSU late July on a three week trip on their project: Tilburg Africa: Towards Knowledge Society.

A group of professors and students is coming to discuss and share ideas on topics like renewable energy and water management.

The two organizers of the trip and project, Soumah Maya and Max van Dam also funded the trip said choice to come to Zimbabwe was a logic one. “The contact with Zimbabwe proceeded so smoothly that we decided to continue this cooperation”.

Soumah said, “the idea is to start a cooperation with MSU by means of an exchange but also by example, start an online community with lecturers, in this way you have contact with people you normally never talk with”.

“Zimbabwe does very little solar energy, whereas much can be invested”, added Max. “We can also learn from Zimbabweans because they see certain topics in an open and flexible way”, he said.
