Bulawayo Set to Host Family-Friendly Comedy Spectacle

Bulawayo is preparing for a major comedy event as Umahlekisa Entertainment announces a dynamic line-up of comedians, including two from South Africa, for a show designed to entertain families while promoting tourism.

Founder Ntando Moyo confirmed that top performers such as Siyanda Maphumulo and Khanyisa Bhunu from South Africa will share the stage with local talents including General Lesley, Mbongeni, Ignatius, Zoe Hlabangana, and Bleh Mutandwa. Attendees can also expect surprise appearances from Babongile Sikhonjwa and Sipho Mercent Nyathi.

Moyo highlighted that the event aims to go beyond laughter. “This is more than just a comedy show. We’re using comedy as a tool to promote Bulawayo as a tourist destination,” he said. Visiting comedians will take part in a brief boot camp with local performers and explore the city’s cultural landmarks, documenting their experience through vlogs.

The show is family-friendly, with live music, secure parking, and giveaways for VVIP ticket holders. Moyo emphasized that the content will remain clean and suitable for all ages.

This initiative represents a new approach to tourism, combining entertainment and cultural promotion. Umahlekisa Entertainment seeks to position Bulawayo as a center for arts, culture, and comedy tourism, offering both residents and visitors a memorable experience.
