Harvest House International Church Hosts Annual Clash of Hub Choirs with Children’s Choir Debut

Harvest House International Church (HHIC) successfully hosted its annual Clash of Hub Choirs on Sunday, featuring the debut of the Children’s Church Ministry Clash of Choirs. The event drew 22 choirs from across Zimbabwe and neighboring countries, showcasing the church’s commitment to nurturing musical talent and fostering creativity.

Pastor Sukoluhle Luphahla, Harvest Music director, said the competition aims to develop skilled musicians within the church, raise musical standards, and encourage innovation. The adjudication panel included renowned musician and Joyous Celebration co-founder Dr Lindelani Mkhize, gospel artist Janet Manyowa, and professional vocal coach Tatenda Gupira.

Now in its ninth year, the Clash of Hub Choirs has become a key highlight on HHIC’s calendar. This year, last year’s senior winners, the HQ Choir, did not participate. After strong performances from all groups, South Africa’s RSA Super Choir claimed first place, with City Hub 1 finishing as first runners-up and Bulawayo Community Hub 1 taking second runners-up.

In line with Proverbs 22:6, HHIC launched the Children’s Church Ministry Clash of Choirs to cultivate young talent. Eight children’s choirs participated, representing Rusape/Makoni, Masvingo, Kwekwe, and Bulawayo. Celebrated musicians Vuyo Brown and Mimmie Tarukwana judged performances in praise and worship categories. The HQ Choir won first place, with Community Hub 3 and Rusape Makoni Hub finishing as first and second runners-up respectively.

Spearheaded by HHIC founders Bishop Dr Collin Nyathi and Senior Reverend Dr Sarah Nyathi, the Clash of Hub Choirs highlights the church’s musical talent and promotes unity and excellence across its choirs. The weekend also featured the Harvest Music — Hlala Nami Live Recording on Friday, creating a full weekend dedicated to worship, music, and ministry.
