NAMA Zimbabwe 2020 – New Team Big Goals

The National Arts Merit Awards or NAMAs Zimbabwe has a new team ready to run the show. Jacaranda Culture and Media Cooperation has taken over at the helm of the awards and will be responsible for the planning and execution of the event.

The Team Behind the event includes Mr Napoleon Nyanhi aka Napstar who has been appointed the managing director. He spoke at the recent press conference of how the event has big goals to reach new heights. The theme is bringing it back to the people. Napoleon spoke of the legacy of NAMA and in it, he mentioned the new look NAMA and how they plan to elevate NAMA to greater heights.

Leonard Mapfumo also spoke of his excitement towards the new look NAMA Awards and the role of JCMC. He was excited with all the past work of JCMC mentioning the work JCMC has done in terms of Dreamstar and all its success. He mentioned the exciting plans to expand into film and get more of Zimbabwe’s content on international platforms.

The press release at Miekles had a healthy attendance of media houses, artists and musicians showing their support for this Zimbabwe awards event.

Guests like Lorraine Guyo, Madame Boss, AFRIMMA award-winning artist Hillzy made time to voice their opinions at the event and support it online as well as the entire event was live-streamed across the world.

NAMA’s Will be held on the 28th and 29th of February a two-day special occasion at the HICC centre with a workshop for the first day and the main Awards the second day.

The crowd also worried about monetary incentives were assured by the organising team that as former contestants they were working tirelessly to some form gift or bonus for all winners in the 2020 edition.
