Agape Mandizvidza Shines at Miss Charm Zambia 2025

Agape Mandizvidza, recently crowned Miss Asia Pacific International Zimbabwe 2025, graced the stage at Miss Charm Zambia 2025, turning borders into bridges and crowns into symbols of unity.
Mandizvidza traveled from Harare to Lusaka’s Radisson Hotel on August 24 for the prestigious event, which brought together beauty queens, dignitaries, and fashion enthusiasts from across the region. She engaged with her counterparts, including the newly-crowned Miss Charm Zambia, and celebrated Zambian hospitality and style.
Representing Zimbabwe, Mandizvidza radiated poise, grace, and cultural pride. Her presence strengthened ties between Zimbabwean and Zambian pageantry and highlighted her commitment to cultural diplomacy.
African beauty pageants have evolved beyond competitions. They serve as platforms to amplify voices, preserve heritage, and drive social change. Miss Culture South Africa, for example, empowers contestants to promote cultural heritage while supporting local artisans and sustainable tourism. Similarly, Miss World South Africa leverages its platform for youth mentorship, mental health, and leadership advocacy.
At Miss Charm Zambia 2025, Kutemba Njapau was crowned winner and will represent Zambia in Vietnam in November. She received K20 000 (US$850) and a scholarship from the Information Communication University. First princess Monde Moola, also Miss World Tourism Zambia, won K10 000 (US$425). Second runner-up Luse Hamusonde took home K5 000 (US$210), and Chipo Chilinga earned the Universal Woman Zambia title with K5 000 (US$210). Each winner became a brand ambassador for Shodol Cosmetics and Cocoa.
Mandizvidza praised Zambia’s dynamic fashion and beauty scene. She highlighted the use of Chitenge fabric in modern outfits, vibrant prints, streetwear trends, and traditional attire featuring beaded jewelry and animal prints. Local designers like Lace by Mwenge and Ensoko by Chiza have gained recognition for creativity and tailoring. Zambian models such as Mulenga Chileshe and Jennifer Mulenga are redefining beauty standards globally.
African beauty queens must embrace purpose-driven pageantry anchored in authenticity, representation, and impact. Advocacy should go beyond speeches to include tangible efforts in youth mentorship, cultural preservation, and health education. Queens should proudly showcase and articulate their heritage, reinforcing national identity and fostering community pride.
Mandizvidza’s appearance at Miss Charm Zambia exemplifies Pan-African collaboration, strengthening regional bonds and promoting a united front for African pageantry on the global stage.
