Tinotenda Kadewere has just written another beautiful page in the history books by becoming the first Zimbabwean player to score in the Spanish topflight league.

The Zimbabwe international who turns out for Real Mallorca found the back of the net in his side’s impressive 4-2 win over Villarreal at the Iberostar Estadio on Saturday.

On his debut, Kadewere found himself doing what is known best for, scoring, much to the delight of not only the player himself but also the rest of Zimbabweans alike.

Kadewere opened the scoring avenues for Real Mallorca in the 20th minute to give his side an upper hand in a match were they eventually won 4-2.

Following his stuff of greatness, La Liga too could not hide how impressed they were by the Zimbabwean’s achievement and exploits as the FA went onto congratulate the player on their official Facebook account.

“Tino Kadewere scores his first goal in LaLiga, becoming the first Zimbabwean to score in the Spanish League. Congratulations Tino!” read the post after the match.

The goal was Kadewere’s second in Real Mallorca colours having scored his first in their Copa Del Rey first round clash against Autol at the Estadio La Planilla in November.

Prior to Saturday’s encounter, the 27-year-old striker had only featured in the Spanish topflight league as a substitute since recovering from an injury which kept him out of the action in the opening stages of the of the season.

It is, therefore, hoped that Kadewere will continue on this trajectory and find his top scoring form once again.
