Mai TT Shines at ‘Lost in Ashes’ Premiere in Harare

Mai TT claimed the spotlight at the premiere of the Nollywood-Zimbabwean film ‘Lost in Ashes’ at Westgate, Harare, on Saturday. The event drew fans and Nollywood royalty, including Mike Ezuruonye, Mike Godson, Anita Joseph, Chinyere Winfred, Joy Patrick Ezedike, Iyke Odife, and Flossy Florento.

On the red carpet, Mai TT embraced the attention. With cameras flashing and fans cheering, she raised her hand and declared, “My glory and crown has been returned.” Her excitement set the tone for the night.

Inside the cinema, her performance captivated the audience. Fans clapped, cheered, and even danced spontaneously, responding to the chemistry she shared with the Nigerian stars.

After the screening, Mai TT addressed the crowd. “I am happy my dream has been fulfilled. I am still in awe, thank you Zimbabwe, thank you Nigeria. We are making history with film. This is my story. I have been judged and ridiculed, but today I stand here because I refused to give up,” she said.

Senior government officials, including Deputy Minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture Emily Jesaya, attended the premiere. The Nollywood stars praised Mai TT for her determination and talent. Mike Ezuruonye described her as “fearless.”

Fans praised her performance despite the late start of the event. Caroline Makusha of Harare said, “Yes, we waited longer than expected, but once the movie started, I forgot about the time. Mai TT gave us magic.” Brighton Nkosi added, “The movie was brilliant and inspiring. My only hope is that next time our events should start on time, because the world is watching us now.”

By the end of the night, the message was clear. Mai TT did more than premiere a film. She reclaimed her crown, silenced her critics, and demonstrated that Zimbabwean cinema can stand proudly on the international stage.
