MISS Tourism Zimbabwe Nomqhele Sisa Nkomo Reflects on a Year of Growth and Achievement
MISS Tourism Zimbabwe, Nomqhele Sisa Nkomo, describes last year as a foundational period in her career, marking a season of personal growth, achievement, and self-discovery. The young beauty queen believes the experiences she gained will shape her path in the years to come.
Nkomo represented Zimbabwe at the Miss Tourism International pageant in Malaysia in October, an experience that she says broadened her perspective and strengthened her confidence. Although she did not win on the international stage, she views the journey as an opportunity for growth rather than a setback.
Her accomplishments on the national level were significant. Nkomo earned the titles of Miss NUST and Miss Tourism, achievements she says reflect years of dedication, discipline, and belief in herself. These milestones solidified her sense of pride in representing Zimbabwe on global platforms.
Nkomo’s efforts in the fashion and creative industries have also been recognised locally. She was nominated for Model of the Year at this year’s Bulawayo Arts Awards, an affirmation of her growth within modelling. She also won the Outstanding Poet Award at the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards, highlighting her talent as a spoken-word poet.
Beyond pageantry, Nkomo is a journalism student at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). She is a versatile creative, combining her skills in design, poetry, and performance to build a strong presence in Zimbabwe’s cultural landscape.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Nkomo said she enters the new year with clear goals and a focused vision. She intends to build on the foundation laid last year, embracing new challenges and opportunities with purpose and confidence.
