Jah Prayzah Reflects on Humble Beginnings Before Stardom

Jah Prayzah has become one of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated artists, earning a reputation as a hit-maker while staying true to his musical roots. His journey to fame was not easy, and he recently shared a glimpse of his early struggles with fans on social media.
Posting a photo from his earlier days, Jah Prayzah recalled walking from Budiriro into town to record a song when no one knew him. He described being ignored and overlooked during that period, a time when recognition and support were scarce.
“You were my supporters, you welcomed me and changed my life, and I stood among those who mourned. They did what God did, they made me an example of a rock that came from the dust,” he wrote, expressing gratitude to the people who supported him before his rise to fame.
Jah Prayzah also reflected on those who doubted his potential. He said that some people wanted him to remain in the position captured in that early photo, unable to accept his growth or success. “I feel sorry for those who wanted me to remain the person you see in that picture. Those who say that if I were to break through this year, the sky has its own destiny for me,” he added.
He concluded with a powerful message about resilience and destiny: “Fight against the power of God, with the shining rain and the snow and the sun, let’s see if we win. Just saying…”
The post highlights the perseverance and determination that have defined Jah Prayzah’s career. From being overlooked in his early days to becoming a leading figure in Zimbabwean music, his story reflects dedication, faith, and the support of fans who helped him rise from humble beginnings to international acclaim.
